Candidates for the 2020-2021 ASUW Board of Directors committed to equity for all
WHO IS CONNECT THE PACK?
We are a group of UW Seattle campus leaders running in a ticket to be the 2020-2021 ASUW Board of Directors. We are united in our goal of removing institutional barriers to access and unique in the backgrounds that make each of us singularly qualified for the positions we seek. Connecting the pack means making sure every Husky feels like they belong, and that starts with leadership and policies aimed at equity for all.

WHAT IS ASUW AND WHO ARE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS?
We are running to be the leaders of the Associated Students of the University of Washington. ASUW is a primary source of student voice and creativity on the UW Seattle campus. Through years of expansion and advocacy, ASUW and its student leaders are a driving force for activism and programming on campus. Each of the 25+ entities with their 60+ total student employees has their own specific mission such as serving a specific ethnic group or promoting student health, but they are each connected in their goal of being student-led. Everything from Student Senate, to Rainy Dawg Radio, to the Bean Basket fall under the umbrella of ASUW, making the associated students a dynamic organization aiming to engage with every single UW student. Go to http://www.asuw.org/ to learn more.
ASUW as an organization is led by a Board of Directors made up of 8 elected voting members and 3 non-voting members. Each of the 8 elected voting positions oversees specific entities within ASUW that correspond with one of the goals of ASUW. WHAT ARE ASUW ELECTIONS?

CAMPUS-WIDE ASUW ELECTIONS TAKE PLACE EVERY SPRING
Campaigning lasts about 2.5 weeks each spring quarter with voting open for one week during this time. This year campaigning begins Monday, April 27th while voting begins on Wednesday, May 6th and ends on Wednesday, May 13th. Learn more about voting under the "voting" tab of our website.

ELECTIONS ARE OVERSEEN BY AN ENTITY IN ASUW CALLED THE ELECTIONS ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
The EAC, like every other ASUW entity is led by dedicated student employees. These employees ensure the election is open to all UW students and fair for all candidates. To promote knowledge of student issues, the EAC organizes live forums where candidates answer questions about their goals. These forums take place throughout campaigning. To learn more about the dates, times, and topics of forums go to our "Live Online Forums" tab. To learn more about the EAC, visit http://vote.asuw.org/ .

ELECTIONS MATTER
The board of directors is the executive branch of student government, granted special access to governing bodies throughout campus such as the Provost's Advisory Committee for Students, the U-Pass Advisory Board, UW Police Department and more. It is vital that UW Seattle students believe in the vision and qualifications of every elected board member granted executive privileges. The Board of Directors has immense opportunity to change the UW community for the better.
